Information Services Technician/Network Administrator:

     This position will consist of both Network Administrator responsibilities and other educational/vocational responsibilities relating to teaching and training various skills to eligible students.

     The Network Administrator position consists of several broad areas of technical knowledge.  A candidate for this position should be able to help staff with computer issues, and technical questions that arise from day to day as well as install and update computer software, maintain the file servers, and manage user accounts for staff and students.  Knowledge of wireless systems is also very important.  Netware/Novell experience would be extremely beneficial but not required.  Knowledge of Windows XP Professional/Vista administration would also be useful. 

     It’s very important that the candidate for this position be someone who can problem solve and research technical issues, and someone who has an inquisitive sort of mind.  They must be an individual who can take their own initiative to get things done as this position is not managed directly by another department head.

 

Support Youth Care Worker:

     The role of the Youth Care Worker is to provide support and relief for the primary care staff.  They will often work relief shifts, supervise and work alongside students who have work hours, and be called upon to meet various needs as they arise.

Homeroom Teacher:

      The primary function of the homeroom teacher is to manage and oversee that the students in the homeroom are accomplishing the necessary goals and assignments to be successful in their education.  This includes record keeping, tutoring, supervising, correcting detrimental behaviors, and providing a positive and tranquil study environment.  Homeroom teachers are also part of the house team, along with the housefather, housemother, group leader, and are expected to participate in extracurricular house activities such as house trips and family unity events.

Subject Teacher:

     Subject Teachers are responsible to teach subject classes, following the curriculum guidelines as determined by the department of education, while providing support and information concerning the progress of the students to the Homeroom Teacher.

Groupleader:

     The groupleader is a vital member of the house team, along with the housefather, housemother and homeroom teacher.  The groupleader performs a “big brother/big sister” role in that their primary function is to model healthy, positive responses to various circumstances while guiding and directing students on how to work through situations in a redeeming fashion.

We accept volunteers throughout the year at all three of our campuses: Indiana, Dominican Republic and Canada.  Volunteer positions are available in a wide range of services.  Applicants may volunteer from one week to one year.  We accept groups and individuals. 

A passport is required if wanting to volunteer at our Canadian and Dominican locations.  Contact Human Resources for the volunteer application.

Internships

We are able to offer internships during the Fall, Spring and Summer terms at both of our locations: Indiana and the Dominican Republic. During the summer, we offer internships at our camp in Canada.  These are the areas in which we have internships available: Counseling/Social Work/Psychology, Education/Tutors, Youth Ministry and Office Services. 

A passport is required for our Dominican and Canadian locations.  Please contact our Human Resources department for the internship application.
