Chaplain
The CVS Chaplain serves as a spiritual leader, teacher, and mentor. The role is somewhat analogous to a combination youth pastor and associate pastor. Fulfills two distinct though similar roles in the school as Chaplain to both students (activity planning, teaching, spiritual counsel) and staff (mediation, training, direction). Role is primarily with students. The Chaplain also is responsible for chapel services, spiritual retreats, the student discipleship program and student devotions. May teach Bible classes within the school structure as well.
Prefer knowledge of Spanish (does not need to be fluent or even conversational) and have some musical abilities so as to be able to lead or participate in music part of the worship services. Must be ACSI certified or willing to be become certified as this person may be teaching High School Bible classes. We assist with the ACSI process. Must be able to work well with program administrators and elected Church Board. We ask staff members for an initial commitment of two years. A passport is required.
